When the Zombie apocalypse is here, there is only one thing you can do: Run!

Come and Join Union City Community and Recreation Services as they host their annual Running Dead 5k/10k Fun Run & Walk this fall. Run for fun, or run for your life by entering into the Zombie Challenge in which participants try to dodge Zombies along the trail and stay alive by protecting their flags on the way to the finish line. Come back with both flags on your hips and you will get entered into a raffle to win a cool prize!

Pick up a registration form at the Mark Green Sports Center (31224 Union City Boulevard), or register online on Active.com (Search: Union City Running Dead 4). Make sure to register early and indicate if you would like to add on an official race t-shirt. To be guaranteed a shirt you must register by Friday, October 8^th, 2016. There will be a small donation $5 to enter the Zombie Challenge, with all proceeds going to the American Diabetes Association.To enter the Zombie challenge, under the Additional Purchases Section, click Zombie Challenge. You can also donate $5 on the day of the event to enter the challenge.

* All pre-registrations for the race will be closed on October 20th by 4:30pm, however, we will be taking walk-up registrations on the day of the race starting at 8am October 23rd. Please come early! The race will go on rain or shine!

Costume Contest:

Get into the Halloween spirit and be apart of our costume contest! You will have a chance to win some fun prizes. No need to sign-up. Our judges will be on the lookout for the best costumes starting from 8am-8:30am, and a few lucky winners will be announced at 8:45am just before the start of the race. Just make sure to wear comfortable shoes for the actual run.

1) Stuff My Waffle Food Truck
The Gourmet Waffle food truck will be parked at the race Start/Finish area. Come and get a quick pre-race snack or reward yourself afterwards. Either way you win! Click on the link above to be directed to their facebook page and menu.

Event details and schedule

Both 5K & 10K Races start at 9:00am at the Union City Civic Center parking lot (34009 Alvarado-Niles Road, Union City, CA).  Registration & Bib Pick-Up starts at 8 am.  Please provide a photo ID during Bib Pick-Up.
