Come and join us for a fun-fiilled morning at the Columbus Air Force Base located in Columbus, Mississippi, and home to the 14th Flying Training Wing, the largest Air Force pilot training base in the nation..

Columbus founded in 1821 on the banks of the Tombigbee River, Columbus’ history dates back nearly 200 years.  It was the place where flowers healed a nation during the Civil War, the inspiration for Pulitzer Prize winners Eudora Welty and Tennessee Williams.

The course is a 5k run for adults ages 13 and over and a 1 mile run for kids ages 5-14. Adults, be prepared to get wet and dirty. You will be given 3 flags at the start of the race which represent your life. You survive if you complete the course with at least one flag remaining but watch out for Zombies. They are looking to take your flags!

How Zombie Race Works:

• When you arrive at the registration tent, you will be given a flag belt with three health flags on it.   Wear it so that one is on each hip, and one is behind you.

• Zombies will attempt to take your health flags and eat your brains.  Each zombie may only take ONE health flag.  

• Even if you are infected, you can still finish the race.  You do not become a zombie if you loose all of your health flags, and cannot attack other runners.  Doing so is a violation of the rules and will get you disqualified and asked to leave.

• If you make it to the finish line with at least one health flag, you are a Zombie Race Survivalist.  If you lose all of your health flags, the zombies win the race.

• Do not hide the health flags under your clothes, or tuck them in in any way.  This is cheating, and will get you disqualified.

Zombie Rules:

•  Zombies must sign in and sign out at the Zombie Transformation Chamber.  

• Zombies will not physically contact any runner except when trying to pull off a health flag. Any grabbing, pushing, or striking between zombies and runners will result in being escorted out of the race without a refund. 

• Zombies are not allowed to grab more than one health flag at a time from a runner.

• Zombies must abide by what their zombie group leaders say.  They can help lead you to victory. 

• Any zombies that seem visibly intoxicated will not be allowed to participate.  There will be no refunds given.. Come out to support your human, enjoy food, fun and a visit from the undead family!

Event details and schedule

Registration will start at 9 a.m. with the race starting in waves at 10 a.m. All racer will need to be registered by 9:30 a.m.

Please print a copy of the waiver and bring with you.

If you do not have access to the base, please make sure you bring your Driver License, Vehicle Registration, and Proof of Insurance.

Parking will be clearly marked. Follow the "event" signs.

Please bring your own water or sports drink. Additional fluids will be available.

Wear clothing that you don't mind getting Dirty.
