Pawz for a Cause 5k...

The 3rd Annual Pawz for a Cause 5k/Fun Run/Pet Costume Contest is an event organized by Girl Scout Troop 5632.

This event benefits the purchase of items to help needy animals and pets of the community through the Fauquier SPCA. And where else would we have this but at their facility!  Pets are welcome to attend and participate as long as they are leashed and are up to date on all their vaccinations.

Last year we were all amazed of the donations received for the SPCA.  This year, let's see if we can increase the donations!  We encourage ALL participants and spectators to bring an item to donate to the SPCA!!

Also be sure to come out to meet "Mozey Moo"!  Our special friend that participated with us last year with a couple of her farm friends! 

All human runners pre-registered will receive a Pawz for a Cause T-shirt. Pre-registration deadline is September 30, 2016. All pet runners will receive a special treat as well, while supplies last.

The pet costume contest is a fun way to see your pets and animals dressed up for the Halloween season. There will be three different categories; Cutest Costume, Funniest Costume, and Most Creative Costume. Contest will be held after 5K while waiting on results. Prizes to be revealed the day of the race.

(Human participants can also wear costumes too, not just for pets!)

Event details and schedule

Day of Event - Held at the Fauquier SPCA, 9350 Rogues Rd, Midland, VA

Packet Pickup & Day of reigistration will be at the SPCA beginning at 8:45am - 9:30 am.  We will have a table for those pre-registered and also a table for day of registrations. (Be sure to bring donated items for "free" registration events (1mile fun run/pet costume contest)

Timeline:

10:00am  5K Run/Walk  (Pre-registration deadline is September 30, 2016 all registrants up to this date will be guaranteed a t-shirt)

11:00am  Pet Costume Contest *Free with donated item from the Fauquier SPCA wishlist (time approximate)
