- We invite you to our 13th Annual Miles For Smiles 5K and Festival Saturday, November 5, 2016. Last year you helped raise over $63,000 for medical, educational, therapeutic, and recreational services provided to more than 1,200 of the most medically fragile and technologically dependent infants, children, and young adults with special needs that we serve. Let’s make this year bigger and better!
What Your Support Means
Miles for Smiles provides a once a year opportunity to nurture and protect some of the most medically fragile and technologically dependent children in the nation by funding the highly-specialized medical care that BCC delivers. This care saves lives and improves the health and happiness of those we serve.
Event Details
- Check-ins start at 8 am.
- T-shirts are provided to the first 200 walkers who sign up.
- All participants will receive goodie-bags, breakfast, and lunch.
- Starting at the Pompano Beach Elks Lodge, walkers will circle the four-mile Pompano Beach Air Park and celebrate at the finish line with food and lots of fun!
- 100% of proceeds support medical, recreational, and educational programs. Walkers, runners, joggers, wheelchairs, strollers, and well-behaved pets are welcome!
Registration

- Pre-register for $20 (Registrants who sign up prior to November 3 will receive discounted prices)
- $25 to get in at the door
- Children under 10 years old walk FREE
- $5.00 discount for military and law enforcement (Discount applies to: Fire, Police, EMT, and all military branches)
- Walkers are encouraged to create teams with their friends, family members, and co-workers.
- Please make checks payable to Broward Children’s Center, and mail to: 200 S.E. 19th Avenue Pompano Beach, FL 33060.
- Remember to bring your team’s pledge money on the day of the event to support BCC kids, and for your chance to win great prizes!
- Registration closes Thursday, November 3 at 5:00 PM!
How to Register and/or Create a team
- Visit https://www.firstgiving.com/10400/13thAnnualMilesForSmiles
- Click the blue register button, and select your Registration Options (participant, local hero, child, or caregiver.)
- Select how many participants you’d like to register for the event and click Register.
- Fill in the information for your FirstGiving account, then click next.
- Select if you’d like to join an existing team, create your own team, or select that you do not want to join a team. Click next.
- Register yourself and/or someone else. Click next.
- Create your team page, click next. Register yourself and/or other teammates. Click next.
- Fill out the information to create your own personal fundraising page, or select “I don’t want a Personal Fundraising Page.”
- Confirm your registration and click submit.
Awards
Awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in the walking, running, and wheelchair categories.
