Welcome to the 1st Annual Gainesville Youth Chorus 5K Run/Walk & Kids 1 Mile Fun Run! This event benefits the Gainesville Youth Chorus (GYC) Scholarship Programs. We are a not-for-profit, regionally-based chorus for boys and girls ages 8-18 who have a passion for singing! Official Youth Cultural Ambassadors for the City of Gainesville, GYC was established in 1994 and has become an international touring choir. Through our unique programs, we continue our long tradition of developing confidence, leadership and personal excellence in children through singing.

This 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run will be held on the Saint Francis Catholic Academy Campus and is considered a trail (cross-country) run.

All who participate in the 1Mile Fun Run will receive a medal at the finish line.

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 Men and Women in each age category:

• Age 11-15
• Age 16-19
• Age 20-29
• Age 30-39
• Age 40-49
• Age 50-59
• Age 60+

Raffle tickets will be included in each packet for your opportunity to win great gift certificates from area businesses and restaurants.  You can purchase additional raffle tickets at the registration table ($1each, $5 for 10 or $20 for as tall as you are).

Event details and schedule

Registration and packet pick-up will begin at 8:00am.  Follow the signs to the registration tent.

5K Run/Walk will begin at 9:00am

1Mile Fun Run will begin at 9:15/9:30

Awards to follow 5K Run/Walk

There will be plenty of parking, please follow the signs to the parking and registration tent.

The 5K and Fun Run will take place on the Saint Francis Catholic Academy campus and is considered a trail run.  The course will be clearly marked.  Water tables will be set up along the course.
