On October 22, 2016, Ultra Expeditions is hosting the first annual trail race in Farmersville, TX. We were fortunate to
partner with the City of Farmersville on their long-standing bike race through their city and combine the events for the
first annual Oktoberfest Trail Run! We plan on having a family fun day of trail running starting at 7:00 am – 8:30 am with
distances of 5k, Half, Full and 50 K. These trail races will all be held on the newly-converted Chaparral Trail, previously
used as the railroad right-of-way and now converted to a multi-use trail. This will be the first event on this new trail!
We will be celebrating the historic city of Farmersville, complete with our own Oktoberfest-themed events after the race
to include free food, live music, and a beer garden for all racers.
The trail races are on the newly converted Chaparral Trail. The trail was used as the railroad right-of-way and now converted to a multi-use trail. The race begins at the historic Onion Shed, a restored building from the 1930s that was once used a loading dock for the onion industry.
The first 2.5 miles of the route is paved and when that ends, expect a crushed-stone surface for trail running. The out and back route is flat and fast and is partially covered under a canopy of trees and beautiful country scenic views that feels remote and forested.
The race distances are color coordinated
