SF Mad Dash - 5K Costume Run & After-Party!

On Oct 30th, we invite everyone to run, walk and party through Golden Gate Park at our 5th annual SF Mad Dash 5K Costume Run! All ages are welcome to join us to run, walk and party at SF Mad Dash with all registered runners receiving a race timed numbered bib and a goody bag.  (Kids 12 and under need not register and instead of a race timed bib and goody bag will receive a numbered bib and a high five.)

Then, whether you run in the 5K race or not, join us for the after-party at the Polo Field Stables. Enjoy some delicious food from a food truck(s), a refreshment from our bar and soak up some of post-race entertainment including post-race festivities such as runner’s prizes, costume contest, raffle, music and fun kid activities for the little ones including a bounce house.

And it’s all for a great cause! All proceeds will benefit the Sunset Coop Nursery School, a beloved community institution operating in the Outer Sunset since 1940.

Course Length: 5k

Race Start Time: 9:30 AM

Race Course Closure: 11:00 AM

Start & Finish Location: Polo field stables, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA

The scenery can’t be beat on this circular course.

1. Participants will proceed out of the stables, head south west around a portion of the polo fields, turn right on SF Bicycle Route 830 toward the beach.
2. Then they will take a right onto Chain of Lakes Drive East and another right on John F. Kennedy Drive at the 1km mark.
3. All will continue on, taking another right onto Transverse Drive at the 3km mark and water station, then right again on SF Bicycle route 134 and continue straight towards the beach once again.
4. They will pass the 4km mark shortly after make the final right  heading East back onto the polo fields towards the finish line and completing the full 5k!

Race Start/End? Polo Field Stables on John F. Kennedy Dr. in Golden Gate Park (across from Spreckels Lake).

Coming by car? Enter the park off of Fulton at 30th Ave. and turn right on JFK or 36th Ave. and turn left on JFK. Park along JFK, or if that’s full, park on Fulton. Please do not park in the Angling Lodge lot or the main Polo Fields lot.

Taking Muni? The 5 Fulton will drop you off at Fulton and 36th. Walk into the park and take a left at Spreckels Lake. Cross JFK at the cross walk and follow the signs in to the stables area for the starting line. Visit transit.511.org to plan your trip by public transportation.
