Get into the Halloween spirit at the first annual Westover Monster Dash 5K and Family Fun 1 Mile! This is a family friendly event and runners and walkers of all levels, strollers and leashed pets are welcome!

The Monster Dash is a costume run/walk that takes place in Westover, Alabama. Costumes are not required to participate but are encouraged - the crazier the better! 

Teams & families are also encouraged! Get your team of 4 or more together – get creative, get t-shirts, get costumes…. Have fun!

Runs start and end at the Westover City Park and all post-race activities will be held at the Park (3312 Westover Road, Westover, AL 35185).

Each participant will receive a participant packet and access to the post-run activities which will include a variety of freebies including post race refreshments! Cotton long sleeve T-shirts guaranteed to those register by midnight on October 15^th, 2016.

All the proceeds from this event will go to the City of Westover Planning Commission to fund projects for City improvement. Current projects include the purchase, installation and maintenance of American flags for the highway 280 median in Westover, a memorial walk in the City Park and another 5k in the Spring of 2017.

Runs start and end at the Westover City Park and all post-race activities will be held at the Park (3312 Westover Road, Westover, AL 35185). 

Awards will be given to the Top Finisher in each age division, as well as the Top Overall Male and Top Overall Female. Age divisions will be decided by number of participants.

Along with race awards there will be awards given for Biggest Team, Most Spirited Team (Best Costumes), Most Spirited Individual (Best Costume), and Most Spirited Kid (Best Costume). To be considered for an award in the costume contest, please visit the Judge's Table (located at Westover Park) between 7 and 7:30 a.m.

We will also have a wide variety of door prizes that will be given away from a variety of sponsors. Winners will be selected by bib number.

Sleep In Option (for those who would like to support the City but not walk / run):
$20 – Until midnight October 28^th, 2016.

(Shirts will not be mailed. Shirts can be picked up at Westover City Hall on Friday, October 28^th, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. or immediately following the race on October 29^th. To have someone pick up your shirt for you or to have it held for you, send an email with details to [email protected])

Registration, bib pick-up AND RUN will begin at Westover City Park (located behind Westover City Hall at 3312 Westover Road, Westover, AL 35185).

Packets will be available for pick-up Friday, October 28^th, 2016, between 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Westover City Hall, 3312 Westover Road, Westover, AL 35185 or on Saturday immediately following the race at Westover Park.

Awards & Prizes immediately after completion of races at Westover City Park.

Pre-race: 

Upon arrival, be sure to check in at our registration table.

Race:

The races will begin promptly at 8 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

The races will start and finish at the park. 

Post-race:

All post-race activities will be at the Westover City Park located behind Westover City Hall. Be sure to stick around for the awards ceremony, door prizes and runner’s goody bags!  There will be face painting and other activities for kids.

Top Overall Male / Female

5K Age Group Awards to:
Top Finisher in each age group. Age divisions will be decided by number of participants.

1 Mile Fun Run Awards to:
Finisher medal for all children 10 and under.
