Food Run 5K...

• 5K Run / Walk:- Run 3.1 Miles

The Food Run 5k is back! The Coralville Community Food Pantry is excited to announce that it will be hosting its fourth annual 5k run/walk on Saturday, November 5. The Food Run 5k is intended to be a fun-filled way for people of all ages and abilities to come together to support the mission of the food pantry. NOTE: This race will be timed by volunteers. There will be a race clock for runners/walkers to self-time as well.

The route for this year’s 5K will start and end at the Coralville Youth Sports Complex (2480 Dempster Rd, Coralville), using wide sidewalks to tour scenic neighborhoods in NE Coralville. Prizes will be awarded to first place male and female finishers for the following categories: 8 & under; 9-13; 14-21; 21-49, 50+.

Registration costs ($25/person) include an event t-shirt as well as food and drinks after the event. Children age 5 and under participate at no cost. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Coralville Community Food Pantry. Registration for “The Food Run” is now open. EVENT TIMELINE (SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7)

• 7:30 AM: T-Shirt & Packet Pick-Up + New Registrations
• 9:00 AM: Race Start
• 9:30-10:30 AM: Post Race Food/Drinks
• 10:30 AM: Race Awards/Prizes 

PARKING
Parking will be available at the race venue.

RESTROOMS
The food pantry facility contains 2 one-stall restrooms. 

WATER STATION
On the route, at about the half-way mark, a water station will be made available to participants. 

PRIZES
Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers for the following age groups: 8 and under, 9-13, 14-21, 21-49, and 50+. Additional prizes will be raffled off—winners’ names will be posted on a whiteboard inside the pantry.

FOOD & DRINKS
Upon finishing the race, 5k participants are invited to help themselves to water, granola bars, and bananas—all of which will be available inside the food pantry.

ROUTE
The Food Run 5k 2016 route is still being finalized. But spoiler alert: it will be primarily wide-sidewalks, trails, and will be a lot of fun!
