5K to benefit Shepherdstown Daycare & free Kids Fun Run to promote wellness in our community. The SDC mission is to provide affordable, nurturing child care and enriching, educational experiences for the children of working parents. SDC is the region’s only daycare that bases tuition on a sliding family income scale, enabling families that want to work or further their education to pursue their dreams. Half of our children come from families living at or below the poverty level.

Day of event Check-In (7:30-8:45) and Start/Finish Line at Shepherdstown Day Care Center located off of E. German Street in historic downtown Shepherdstown, WV

Gifts/Activities

T-shirts for all pre-registered 5K participants. Children’s Activities provided inside the Day Care Center.

5K Course Description

Departs SDC,  proceeds downhill to and then along the scenic Potomac River to a turn around spot. Then returns along the Potomac and uphill to the Rumsey Monument and returns to finish at the Day Care Center.

Kids Fun Run Course Description

Departs SDC and proceeds to Rumsey Monument and it's stunning views of the Potomac River. Then returns to SDC.

Run or Walk • Free Kids Fun Run (ages 2-8) - Parents welcome to participate. Water station at half way point. Refreshments and water provided at finish line.
