WALK, RUN ROLL Honoring Our Veterans and Educating Our Community...

• 5K Run / Walk:- Run 3.1 Miles

On Saturday, November 12, the Franklin Simpson Educational Excellence Foundation, Inc. will present the third “Walk, Run, Roll 5K: Honoring Our Veterans…Educating Our Community” at the Franklin-Simpson Park.  This red, white, and blue event will pay respects to our Simpson County Veterans as we begin our morning with the presentation of colors, raising of the flag, & other ceremonies presented by our local veterans’ groups. These same amazing men & women will be volunteering at all levels of the event in a spirit of patriotism and community pride.  “Run, Walk, Roll” covers 5 kilometers of on-road/off road course through the picturesque Jim Roberts Community Park.   This crisp, fall morning event is not completely “on road,” but will be suitable for all skill levels including wheel chairs. 

All proceeds from this event will benefit programs administered by the Franklin Simpson Educational Excellence Foundation, Inc.  FSEEF provides supplemental funding to educational programs within Simpson County to assure that learners of all ages are provided with high quality opportunities.  We support Imagination Library, Simpson County Schools Chinese Program, Excellent Educator, the Boys and Girls Club of F-S.  We also provide scholarships to students majoring in an education-related field as well as assistance for adult education students seeking their GEDs. 

Event details and schedule

Event start and finish will be centered around the Agriculture building in FS Community Park.  Designated parking will be available in the area of the Agriculture building.  Please watch for volunteers to direct you to parking areas.

REGISTRATIONS CANNOT BE REFUNDED.  EVENT WILL BE HELD REGARDLESS OF WEATHER.

7:30--8:30 Registration and packet pick up--Reminder:  Onsite registration is $30.

8:35--Flag raising ceremony

9:00--Starting time

Awards will be distributed as promptly following the race as possible.  Those wanting to exit the park prior to finish will be directed to rear exit on Ditmore Ford Road.  Please do not exit via North Street until race is complete and awards are given.
