About This Activity

The Ugly Sweater Run is a fun way to kick off the holiday season. All partiipants will receive a high quality, long sleeve shirt and will be chip timed.

We will have special prizes for the ugliest sweaters and the ugliest team of sweaters. Show Us your most creative ugly creation or just pull a sweater out of the closet and join the fun! Santa will be there and a silent auction with many wonderful items too.

You wll be participating for a very good cause. The Autism Society of the Lakeshore (ASL) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization chartered by the Autism Society of America.

Event details and schedule

REGISTRATION
Pre-registration pick up or to register will be at the Best Western Hotel downtown Manitowoc 5 - 8 p.m. Friday, November 11 and the day of the event from 7 - 8 a.m. The silent auction items will be available during pre-registration so you can get your bids in early.

THE COURSE
It  starts and ends at the Best Western Hotel which is on Lake Michigan. It will quickly get onto the Maritime Parkway Trail. It is an out and back course. Fast and flat.

AWARDS
Don't forget to decorate your Ugly Sweater. Here are the divisions eligible for the Ugly Sweater awards: 2-10 years old Best Ugly Sweater Male and Female, 11-18 years old Best Ugly Sweater Female and Male, 19 and over Best Ugly Sweater Female and Male, Best Ugly Sweater Team, Best creative team name.

The awards will be given to the overall f/m winners. Awards will also be given out to the following 5 year age groups: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, up to 95 and over.

LOCATION AND PARKING
The Best Western Hotel is easy to find. From Hwy 43 take Hwy 10 east to Lakeshore Blvd. Turn right on Maritime Drive to the hotel. There is plenty of parking downtown Manitowoc.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE
 All participants receive a long sleeve shirt and food after the event.

ABOUT THE CHARITY
The goal of the Autism Society of the Lakeshore is to assist persons within the autism spectrum, their families and the communities in which they live by providing information and referral, advocacy, public awareness, education and support. This event is our major yearly fundraiser and we appreciate your support to help fund our mission.

POST RACE PARTY
After the event we will have plenty of food and the Ugly Sweater contest.

BAG AND TAG
There will be a secure area where you can bag any valuable items or warm clothing that you may want after the run.
