The Heartland Halloween Bicentenial Fall Classic 5K, part of the Heartland Halloween Weekend Fall Classic races scheduled for Saturday, October 29th at Fort Harrison State Park, benefits the Friends of Fort Harrison, a 501 c(3) corporation dedicated to collaborating closely with Fort Harrison State Park staff in order to support property staff in projects and events that preserve, manage and interpret both the natural and cultural heritage and recreational opportunities of Fort Harrison State Park.

Come join us in celebration of the Halloween holiday with a professionally chip-timed, measured 5K run on the paved (but hilly) Fort Harrison State Park running trails. This 5K course is challenging and fun! Costumes, while not mandatory, are encouraged! 

Not up for a 5K? Try your hand at our 2.5K distance!

The 2.5K Youth Race is perfect for those kiddos wanting to try a race, without commuting to a full 5K. Awards will be given to top 3 youth (not gender specific).

Awards will be given for the top 3 in the following age groups: Male, Male Masters (40+), Female, Female Masters (40+) and Youth! Additionally, there will be additional awards for the costumes: Sariest, funniest, punniest, most creative, laziest, best group and best couple costumes (youth and adult costumes will be judged).

All athletes athletes registered by the t-shirt deadline (October 23 at 11:59PM) will receive an event t-shirt, and a custom finisher medal.

Race Day: We will be onsite by 2:30 pm for packet pickup, as well as race day registration. To ensure we can start the race on time, please plan to be onsite at least an hour prior to race to pick up your timing chip. Please note, we may not be able to allow registrations within 30 minutes of the race starting, or check in within 15 minutes of the race start. Check-in will be at Sycamore Shelter near the start and finish line.

Parking: The park has ample parking available.  Athletes will be required to park on the grass across the road from the shelter (weather permitting).  Only staff, vendors or vehicles with handicap identification will be allowed to enter Sycamore Shelter parking facility.  Should the parking become full, you will be directed where to park.
