Join us for a 5k trail race in the Middlesex Fells, benefitting Friends of the Fells. A group of community members, including Whole Foods, Marathon Sports, Friends of the Fells Staff, local runners and teenagers, have come together to bring you the first annual 5k trail race in the Fells. This will be followed by a Fall Fun Fest activities presented by the Medford Family Network in conjunction with the Mustangs of the Fells club.

All ages are welcome to run, however children aged thirteen and under must run with an adult with a single registration fee of $30.

Event details and schedule

Race day registration will take place from 10:00am. Parking is available at Medford High School. There will be one water station on the course. Kids' race starts at 12:30pm.   5k trail run starts at 1:00pm.

Volunteers needed for a variety of pre-race, during the race and post-race tasks! Volunteers are welcome to run for free. If they wish do to run and volunteer, please contact Lindsay at [email protected]

The course

The start/finish line will be directly behind Medford High School. The course route is almost entirely in the woods. Because it’s in the Fells, it will include some hills, rocks and roots through fire roads and singletrack. It will be challenging enough for dedicated trail runners, yet those new to trail running should definitely give it a try!

Age Group Awards

The first three male and female finishers from the following age groups will be eligible for age group awards.

Under 10 (single admission, running with an adult)

10 – 13 (single admission, running with an adult)

14 – 19

20 - 29

30 - 39

40 - 49

50-59
