Lifestyle Fitness Carin' for Sharon 5k Run/Walk...

• 5K Run / Walk:- Run 3.1 Miles

The 5K Run/Walk is a family friendly event that takes you through the streets of Caledonia, MN. For those of you that aren't runners, feel free to bring the kids and strollers and walk at your own pace. The event takes place during the town Hot Air Balloon celebration so there will be something for everyone to do.

The proceeds of this 5K Run/Walk will be given to the family of Sharon Forrester, who is currently hospitalized with a mental illness. Sharon has 11 children, 2 of which are still in high school (ages 15 and 17). The eldest of the family, Daniel, was hit by a car in Syracuse, NY in 2002 and never made a full recovery. He will never walk or talk again. Sharon has been a stay at home mom and was his primary caregiver. About three months ago, her mental illness took her away from her family out of nowhere and left the family shattered. Daniel is now in Redwing and the two children left at home are now living with their sister, who has 4 children of her own. 

Hot air balloon baskets will be at the start/finish line and located throughout the course.

Music will be provided by Dan Deicher.

Bloody Mary/drink bar provided by Elsie's Bar and Grill.

Event details and schedule

Registration starts at 8:30am with the 5K Run/Walk starting at 10am. A t-shirt is included with registration. Additional t-shirts are available for purchase, again with proceeds going to Sharon and her family.

Parking is available behind Lifestyle Fitness/SmoothToe Socks.
