_ 2016 Gainesville Turkey Trot 5K, 10K & Half Marathon:
The 7th annual Turkey Trot 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon races take place in a quiet neighborhood of Gainesville, Ga. The races start at the same time so you can run with a friend or family member and continue on to run one of the longer courses. They begin on the road in front of the RMA track entrance and go down the hill through the lower parking lot on the left - in and around then left down the hill to circle the American Legion building, back up the hill past the start area. The 5K will go up Riverside Drive take a left on Lanier Avenue, left Cumberland Drive and left back to the track/finish line. THe 10K and Half-Marathon will turn left on Lanier Avenue, left on Cumberland Drive and RIGHT on Blue Ridge Drive, run until you turn left onto Valley Road and take a right down to the turn around in the cul-de-sac and retrace back up Valley Road to Blue Ridge Drive turning left to the next cul-de-sac turn around and then back to Riverside Drive and the track /finish line for the 10K. The Half-Mararthon repeats the 10k course again and returns back to the track area, run one complete loop of the outside track around the tennis courts and then into track area to finish line.
