STENNIS SPACE CENTER MARATHON

The Stennis Space Center offers runners a beautiful, picturesque 26.2-mile run around the perimeter of the Space Center. Run on paved roads, through the lovely wooded areas where wildlife sightings are frequent.

DATE Thanksgiving Weekend - Saturday, November 26, 2016
TIME 8 a.m. start for all races
THE COURSE – The course is flat, fast, and PR friendly, with usual temperatures in the upper 50’s at the start and lower 70’s by the finish.
Course services include Stennis Running Club aid stations approximately every 2 miles. (Kentwood Springs Water, Gatorade, bananas, and hard candy).
Mile markers & directional signs plainly visible. Medical staff supplied by AMR. Communications at each aid station.
This event is sanctioned by both Road Runners Club of America and U.S.A.T.F. All 3 courses are certified. Marathon is a Boston Marathon Qualifier. No walkers in the marathon, please. (6 hr time limit) (18 years of age min.)
NO DAY OF RACE REGISTRATION

REAL ID REQUIREMENTS
All US Government Agencies are required to adhere to the Real ID Act. NASA received word this morning from DHS that both New York and Louisiana has received extensions for the Real ID Act. That being said, there are only two states/territo-ries that will affected by the Real ID Act for access Stennis Space Center. Those are Am.Samoa and Minnesota. Effectively immediately, visitors from Louisiana no longer require the additional ID or the escort to access SSC. They still require a valid state or federal photo ID. This ID can be the Louisiana driver license. The Department of Homeland
Security lists the following as non-conformant states:
Minnesota, America Samoa, Illinois, Missouri, New Mexico, Washington (state) & all Foreign Nationals.
Drivers licenses from all other US states will be considered as acceptable ID by NASA security. Alternate ID accepted by NASA for these non-conformant state visitors are: Federal employee badges, Passports, or Military ID. All drivers and adult passengers must produce acceptable ID on race morning. Please arrive early and expect possible delays for ID checks. NO ONE without proper ID will be allowed into the Stennis Space Center.
PRE-RACE PACKET PICK UP/REGISTRATION available from 1-8 p.m. Friday, November 25 at the Mississippi Welcome Center (Hancock County) located on the corner of I-10 & Hwy. 607.
TRAVEL -Nearest airport is Gulfport, MS (30 minutedrive to Stennis)
SHIRTS – Colorful long sleeve technical teeshirts to all participants.

• Wheelchair Marathon: Custom plaques to top three finishers.
• Handsome, custom designed medallion to all marathon and half marathon finishers.

RACE RESULTS - The complete race results for allthree races will be posted on our website within 24 hours.
POST RACE REFRESHMENT: All participantswill be served delicious chicken and sausage jamba-laya along with cold beer, soft drinks, sports drink and fruit.
