This race honors the late NYRR president and New York City Marathon co-founder, Fred Lebow (1932-1994). The course is two-plus loops of Central Park, which can be a challenge in January! Join the mid-winter fun and camaraderie—and perhaps kick off your training for a spring marathon. You'll have lots of good-spirited company, and you can enjoy classical music (Fred's favorite) at the start as well as inspiring Fred quotes along the course!
Event hashtag: #FLMH—use it in your public tweets and Instagrams to be automatically entered into the NYRR Social Hashtag Challenge to win prizes!
Live unofficial results are available during the race at liveresults.nyrr.org. Features include leaderboards, map tracking, and an individual runner search that can be shared on Facebook and Twitter. Tell your friends and family to follow your progress, and because the system works great on mobile devices, you can get unofficial results right after the race
The race starts on West Drive in Central Park at 96th Street and brings runners over two-plus loops of the park. Participants will run south on West Drive, turning left at the 72nd Street Transverse, and then left again onto East Drive.
The course then continues on East Drive through the Harlem Hills before passing the start line. Runners will complete a second loop of the same route, and then run a shortened third loop before finishing on the 102nd Street Cross Drive near East Drive.
