The Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce and Road Race Consultants are proud to be organizers of the Panama City Beach Marathon. Set for Saturday, December 3, 2016, the 26.2 mile race has been certified as a qualifier for the coveted Boston Marathon. The marathon is sponsored by the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, Beachy Beach Real Estate, and Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville.

Due to the persistent popularity and demand for the Panama City Beach Chamber’s prior event, Run for the Redfish Half-Marathon and 5K, the addition of the full-marathon and renaming of the event to the Panama City Beach Marathon was anticipated.

“We were thrilled with the results of the inaugural Panama City Beach Marathon", Lance Allison, President/CEO, stated. “With 1,100 participants in all three races from 36 states and 5 countries we couldn't be more pleased and excited to see what 2016 has in store .”

The Panama City Beach Marathon will give running fanatics the opportunity to test their limits while running alongside the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.  The Panama City Beach Marathon also incorporates the 13.1 mile half-marathon and 5K races as a result of the merging and renaming of Run for the Redfish.

PACKET PICKUP

EARLY PACKET PICKUP

Packet Pick Up will take place December 2nd at DICK's Sporting Goods in Pier Park North.

RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP

Race Day Packet Pick Up will take place Saturday December 3rd, 2015 at Jimmy Buffett’s

Margaritaville Main Deck located at Pier Park.

Time: 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM

All runners will receive t-shirt** & timing chip when packets are picked up.

We strongly urge you to pick up Friday if possible to avoid delays on race day.

**Shirts will be the same brand as 2015. For most runners the sizes ran a little big

RACE DETAILS

Full Marathon will start at 7:00 AM Sharp, December 3rd, 2016!

(Start/Finish Line is located north of Margaritaville on Pier Park Drive in front of The University Store. Look for Start/Finish Line Arch and listen for DJ Markie Mark)

Half Marathon will start at 7:30 AM Sharp, December 3rd, 2016!

5K will start at 8:00 AM Sharp, December 3rd, 2016!

Kid’s Fun Run will start at 9:30 AM, December 3rd, 2016!

Staging area will be north of start/finish line.

AWARDS CEREMONY

Awards will start at the Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Main Stage at 10:30 AM.

10:30AM:  5K Awards

11:00AM:  Half Marathon Awards

11:30AM: Full Marathon Awards

COURSE INFO

Full Marathon is a certified course and Boston Marathon Qualifier. Codes TBA.

Half Marathon is a certified course. Code TBA.

All Full and Half Marathon Finishers will receive a medal at the finish line. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each division. Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K Overall Finishing awards will be given as well.

Kids Fun Run participants will receive a participation ribbon.

Marathon - Water and/or Gatorade will be on course at mile markers.  GU Energy gel will be available.

Half Marathon - Water and/or Gatorade will be on course at mile markers.  GU Energy gel will be available.

Start/Finish Line will have Water and Fruit for Runners.

Signs will be posted every mile starting with mile 1 and for 5K / Half Marathon / Full Marathon turn-around points. Course is an out and back.

Bay Medical EMS will be on course during race for runners in need of assistance.

Portalets: Full Marathon will have portalets approximately every 6 miles on course at turn point. Half Marathon will have a portalet at the turn-around.

Course is not closed to traffic, so be careful and always be aware, you will be running with the flow of traffic. Traffic is minimal this time of year but is always out there.

Bay County Sheriff’s Department and Panama City Beach Police Department will be on course for your needs as well.

Course will close on a rolling schedule. Entire course shuts down at 1:00 PM Sharp! (6 hour time limit for Full Marathon)

AFTER PARTY AT MARGARITAVILLE

Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville will supply complimentary Chicken & Sausage Gumbo and Land Shark Draft beer. Beer for Runners ONLY at finish of race. Must show bib number to enter designated area. Beer provided to runners 21 years of age or older, of course!

Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville will open to the public at 10:30 AM and will offer runners, friends and family 15% off menu items and merchandise.

REGISTRATION DETAILS

Online Registration will close December 1st, 2016 at 11:00 PM.

You may still register in person at the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce through Thursday December 1st.  You may also register on Friday December 2nd (Packet Pick Up Day) at Dick's Sporting Goods if space permits.

There is NO RACE DAY registration!
