The Harvest 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run is a fun family event with a course that winds through the vineyards, fields and surrounding wooded areas at Linganore Winecellers. 

Participants of the event will be reward with post party wine tasting provided by Linganore Winecellars and post race snacks. Please make sure you stick around and enjoy the great view with a flight of wine (age appropriate, of course) and/or soft drink while you relax in beautiful surroundings.  

Proceeds from the event benefit youth soccer players throughout the region. 

Since 2004, the AC Cugini Italian Soccer Acadamy have been promoting travel soccer for young men & women to train at the Italian Olympic Village. This year will be the first year two teams from Maryland will be participating. The program includes training sessions with instructors from the Italian National Olympic Committee and Italian Soccer Federation; friendly matches with high-level Italian teams in both Rome and on the Italian Adriatic; and review by talents scouts from professional clubs AS Roma, Lazio, Juventus and Brescia Calcio. 

Our goal is to make the travel affordable for all to participate in this life changing experience, and that is where your participation in the Harvest 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run event comes in!

Start/Finish:  Linganore Winecellars, 13601 Glissans Mill Road Mt. Airy, MD 21771-8599

Directions: 

iPhone users: The Apple maps app is sending people to Bottom Road instead of Glissans Mill Road. Please take note of the directions below and call us if you have any problems. Once you have safely arrived, we would appreciate it if you took a moment to report the problem to Apple.

Mt. Airy: From 144, take Ridge Road / North Main Street. Turn left onto Prospect Road and continue to the 4 way stop. Turn right onto Old Annapolis Road, continue for 1/2 mile and then turn right onto Woodville Road. Continue on Woodville Road for 2.2 miles and then turn left onto Glissans Mill Road. The winery will be on your left.

Baltimore and Points East: Take I – 70 west to exit 62 for Libertytown/New Market, 10 miles before Frederick. Turn right on 75 North for 4.5 miles, then right on Glissans Mill Road, 4 miles to Winery.

Washington, DC and Points South:  I-270 North to Exit 22 ( Hyattstown). Left 109 Left 355, Right – 75 North for 13 Miles. Right Glissans Mill Rd. ( 4 Miles to Winery).

Frederick, Hagerstown and Points West: Take – 70 East toward Baltimore. Take exit 62 for Libertytown/Hyattstown. Left on 75N for 4.5 miles & Right on Glissans Mill Road 4 miles to Winery.

Gettysburg, PA and Points North:  Rte. 15 South to 70 East to exit 62, Libertytown, Hyattstown. Left on 75N for 4.5 miles. Right on Glissans Mill Road 4 miles to Winery.

Parking:  Parking lot onsite at Linganore Winecellars

Race Day Timeline:

7:30 a.m. - 8:45 – Check-In

9:00 a.m. – 1 Mile Fun Run Start

9:30 a.m. –  5k Start

Awards: 

Age group awards for each race as follows:

14 & Under – 1st male/female

Top three males/females in the 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 categories

70+ – 1st Male/female

Shirts: Will be guaranteed to 5k participants that register by November 3, 2016

Amenities: Wine Tasting and refreshments pre & post race, water stops on the course and at start/finish, course monitors, marked course, ample parking, and results & awards distributed shortly after the race.

Race Packet Pick Up: Participants may pick up their race packet at on race day starting at 7:30 a.m. at the race start location.
