The 36th annual YMCA Corporate Cup: Second Line for Literacy 5k returns to City Park on Saturday, November 12th. All proceeds benefit YMCA Educational Services (YES!), the adult literacy and workforce development program of the YMCA of Greater New Orleans. This family-friendly event features a 5K road race for teams and individual runners, a half-mile fun run for kids, child care provided by trained staff, food and drink from local businesses, and a live brass band to Second Line participants to the start and finish line!

YES! teaches adults the reading, math, and computer skills they need to succeed in the workplace, assist their children with homework, and to be active, engaged citizens. We are the only adult education provider in the New Orleans region that focuses exclusively on serving lowest-level readers--those who read below the 9th grade level, including many who cannot read at all. With the help of our dedicated teachers and volunteers, we have taught over 16,000 adults since 1977.

The Corporate Cup 5K is run within City Park, finishing on the practice track. The Kids' Half Mile race is run entirely on the practice track.

Do not park on the neutral grounds of Marconi Dr or Roosevelt Mall – your vehicle will be ticketed or towed. Park in the paved lot on Marconi Dr or the lot across from Storyland between Dreyfous Dr and Victory Ave. There is also plenty of street parking. Please obey all traffic and parking signs.
