Modesto Spirit of Giving 5K Run and Walk...

• 5K Run / Walk :- Run 3.1 Miles

Event: This is a fun holiday event for the serious and not so serious runners and walkers. Local business will be open so bring youir ID and debit card and enjoy an after run meal and beverage. Bring your friends and family and create a running Santas, elves, grinches or whatever group. Get in the Spirit!

Course:

Run past the prestigious Gallo Center for the Arts, through beautiful College area neighborhoods and back to downtown Modesto. Wear your Jingle Bells, Santa garb or whatever suits your fancy and get in the spirit!

For those of you thinking PR, this is the course for you, with few turns and curves to rob you of precious seconds. See you at the finish line!!

Kids Free Fun Run:

Informally known as the "Help Santa chase the Grinch out of Modesto" kids run. We need kids young and younger to help Santa chase the Grinch out of Modesto and save Christmas. Candy Canes and medals for all our little heroes 10 years and younger. Free pictures with Santa and the Grinch. The fun run will not be timed.

Boys or Girls Bicycle Drawing:

Bring one canned food item to the kids fun run and receive a ticket for the drawing of a FREE KIDS BICYCLE!! One male and one female winner will be drawn.

Raffle:

Bring a canned good or non perishable food item and win a great raffle prize. Raffle tickets are given out on a per item basis. One food item = one ticket. 10 items =10 tickets, to a maximum of 10 tickets per person.

5K Run Awards;

Medals 3 deep in 5 year age groups male and female. 

Start times:

5K starts at 8:30 am. Kids Fun Run starts at 9:45am  

Race Packet Pickup:

Early bib pickup is available at Vintage Faire Mall on Friday, Dec. 9th from 12 noon untill 7:00 pm. Race day bib pickup  from  7:am until 8:am

Age Groups:

12 and under, 13 to 19, and 5 year age groups thereafter until  80+ male and female 

Event details and schedule

Registrants:

All 5K registrants will receive a quality tech shirt. New this year, adult men's and women's shirts.  Groups of 10 or more adults will receive a $5 discount off each group member's entry fee.

Group Registrations:

Group registrations are now open for Private Teams with 10 or more members. To register a team, the Team Captains must sign up their team, assign the team name and enter a team password. This team password can be shared with team members who then sign up on their own using the password.  If a team fails to reach the 10 member minimum by 12/1, the team discount will be forfeited,and team members will be required to pay the non-discounted entry fee, an additional $5

Benefits:

Proceeds benefit the Parks and Recreation Neighborhood Scholarship Program (Leisure Bucks) for children of low income families, seniors and disabled citizens as well as the Modesto Gospel Mission. All donated canned food items will go to the Modesto Gospel Mission Pantry.
