Supporting the Apex High School PTSA

Did you know Apex High School is home to one of the nation's top academies, the Academy of Information Technology? Apex High School is temporarily moving to a new home on June 10th, 2017 while the new Apex High is being built.  When Apex High School moves to the brand new Green Level High School, they will get a brand new building but won't receive any new technology (computers, projectors, laptops, etc.).  Once the new Apex High School opens in 2019, the school will still not recieve any new techology due to the construction being a "renovation project."

If the school's technology is currently outdated, just imagine how outdated the technology will be in 2019!  

To help raise money for purchasing new educational technology for the future Apex High, three students are teaming up to host the inaugural Apex Trek4Tech 5k.  The event will benefit Apex High School PTSA and help keep the Academy of Information Technology one of the best in the nation.  Come support a great cause and enjoy a morning filled with fun and excitement!  Invite family, friends, classmates, teachers, and teammates.  Everyone and anyone is welcome!

• 9:00 AM - 5K Start Time
  9:45 AM - 1 Mile Start Time

Race Location: Fred G. Bond Metro Park (Cary)

Events: Everyone is welcome to participate! All participants will have chip-timed results that will be posted online. All Fit & Able Productions, Inc. events are inclusion events: anyone of any age, skill-level, or ability can participate in any race!

Athletic Trainer: An athletic trainer will be available at a medical tent located near the finish line.

Water Stations: Water is available at the registration and refreshment area. The water stations are marked on the map. (TBD)

Packet Pick-up: All participants must show a photo ID or be with a guardian with a photo ID in order to pick up their race packets and can only pick up their own race packet. All young kids in strollers must be registered and numbered in order to participate with their parents.

Race Souvenirs: TBD

Awards: Top 3 Male/Female Overall.

Online registration closes on December 3rd at 11:59 PM. Cash and checks are accepted at packet pick-up and race day.

5K Registration:

• Until October 31st: $25
• Until December 3rd: $30
• On Race Day December 4th: $40

1 Mile Registration:

• Until October 31st: $10
• Until December 3rd: $15
• On Race Day December 4th: $20

Fit & Able Productions is a nonprofit organization that has been supporting community and family fitness in Cary since 1997 through organizing creative events and training programs. We also support many programs, such as swim safety lessons for underprivileged children and adults, youth fitness programs, and health education run by our community partners including the Cary Family YMCA, Triangle Aquatic Center, and Town of Cary. Proceeds from our events that aren't designated to support other organizations go to support the event and other Fit & Able nonprofit activities.
