Join the Scouts from Cub Scout Pack 1799 for a unique running experience.

This isn't your ordinary 5k Fun Run.  Rather, it's a one hour timed run around an (approximately) one mile course.  Run one lap and you are a finisher.  Run 3 laps, and you've done your 5k.  Or put the pedal to the medal and go for gold, and see how many you can do.

REGISTER BY 28th of October 2016 at 11:00pm to ensure you receive an event T-Shirt and beat the price increase!

Both Open Entrants and Scouts are encouraged to put together teams.  It's a great way to build camaraderie while enhancing health and fitness.

Awards will be given for top in each age group, and for the top scout troop teams. Teams may consist of up to 5 runners.  The team standings will be the total number of laps completed by the top 3 runners on each team.  Ties will be determined by the total completion time of the last lap.

Event details and schedule

Onsite race-day registration will begin at 7am, and will be accepted until approximately 8:30am.  The race will start at 9am.  The race-day entry is $35 for Open Category, and $25 for Scouts and kids 12 and under.

The course is located at Tilghman Lake Park in La Plata, MD.  Parking is limited, so if you plan to arrive after 7:30 you should consider parking at Laurel Springs Regional Park and talking the quarter mile to the race start.  Signs will be posted and assistance with navigating to the start line will be provided.

The race will be held rain-or-shine, and November weather may vary widely.  Please dress appropriately for the conditions.
