It’s BTR time again! Make plans now for the 2017 BTR on March 18! This year, we’ve lowered the prices and added discounted student pricing for all kids 17 & under (t-shirt included!) who want to run one of the timed races. This is a great event for the entire family — There is truly something for everyone at this festival including competitive races with over $6,000 in cash prizes, recreational runs and walks, kids events, live entertainment and plenty food to enjoy.
This USATF sanctioned running festival is for all ages and offers four competitive courses (10-mile Run, 8K Run, 5K Run, 1-mile Youth Run), a 5K Fun Walk and a 1/4 mile Kid’s Fun Run. Participants can compete for the Beaufort Challenge title by running in both the 10-mile and 5K events. After the races, stay and enjoy the party with gourmet food trucks and live music. We offer great discounts for groups and active duty military, too!
Thanks to all who came out last year for another beautiful, rain-free BTR! We had some very fast runners from all over the region, making this one of the fastest fields in BTR history! Results from past BTR events can be found here.
Most importantly, over $80,000 was raised for Riverview Charter School. Help us raise even more at the 9th Annual Beaufort Twilight Run!
All races start at LeChene Cirle, just beyond Habersham Marketplace where all finishes and the after party will be. Below are course descriptions and maps:
13.1 Beaufort Challenge: 10 mile + 5K = 13.1 miles!
Participants in the Challenge will run both the 5K and the 10 mile races. The starts are 60 minutes apart, so depending on your 5K time, there will be a break between runs. See individual races for course maps.
10 mile Run, View Course Map PDF
The 10 mile Run was a new addition last year to our competitive, chip-timed events with awards (for complete award structure view the General Information Page). Runners in this event will complete two loops of a fast, flat certified course on asphalt roads. It has gentle turns and generous straight-aways. The course loops through beautiful neighborhoods, along parks and marshes, and under grand oak trees. It is also spectator friendly. Fans, friends and supporters can see the runners at the start, finish, and six times throughout the run from the same general location.
No dogs or bikes are allowed on the 10 mile Run Course. Strollers are permitted, but we ask that all participants with strollers start at the back of the group. If you choose to run with headphones, please ensure that the volume is low enough that you can hear people around you. Many streets on this course are narrow and you must be aware of your surroundings. If you are seen wearing headphones and impeding others, you will be removed from the race.
8K Run, View Course Map PDF
The 8K Run is also a competitive, chip-timed event with awards (for complete award structure view the General Information Page). This course mirrors the first loop of the 10-mile run so runners will enjoy the same gentle turns, generous straight-aways and fabulous views.
No dogs or bikes are allowed on the 8K Run Course.
5K Run & Fun Walk, View Course Map PDF
The 5K Run is a competitive, chip-timed event with awards (for complete award structure view the General Information Page). The 5K Fun walk is not timed and no awards are given. The run and walk will start at the same time and follow the same course, but the walkers will be lined up separately from the runners. No dogs or bikes are permitted in the run. Strollers are permitted but we ask that runners participants with strollers start at the back of the run group.
The walk is pet and stroller friendly. All dogs must be on leashes. Please be conscientious of runners and do not block their path. Children under the age of 5 may walk with their parents/guardians for no extra charge, but will not receive a T-shirt without paid registration. No bikes are allowed on this course. If you choose to run with headphones, please ensure that the volume is low enough that you can hear people around you. Many streets on this course are narrow and you must be aware of your surroundings. If you are seen wearing headphones and impeding others, you will be removed from the race.

Kids of all ages are welcome to participate in all of the BTR races, but for those 5 – 14 years old who want a shorter piece of the action, the Youth Run is perfect! All runners in this race will receive a BTR headband.
Kids’ Fun Run
This ¼ mile loop is exclusive for children under 8 years of age. The first 300 participants to register will receive a medal.
We’re glad you’ve decided to come to Beaufort and hope you enjoy your stay. Please contact us if the information below doesn’t answer your questions!

The Beaufort Twilight Run supports Riverview Charter School. Over the last 7 years, the BTR has raised over $325,000 which helps minimize the deficit created by lower funding for public charter schools than traditional public schools.
