What are we running for?

You may think taking on a 5K in elementary school is a big undertaking - and for most schools it is! But at Lake Sybelia, it's a tradition. We're an active school that likes to look a challenge in the face, then conquer it. 
For the past thee years, we've taken on the Dolphin Dash 5K and have achieved our goals - not only in fundraising for much needed school improvements, but to finish the race! Many of our students join the bi-weekly Dolphin Dashers running club to help prepare for DD5K and to improve their fitness. 

Make a Splash for LSE Students
The Lake Sybelia Elementary PTA is setting a variety of fundraising goals for our students this year and we need your help! 

Individual Goals
The top three ONLINE fundraising students will be given the opportunity to spin the famous Prize Wheel for some prestigious prizes live on the morning news!

Class Goals
At school events and on designated days throughout the fall we will be wheeling our prize wheel out during lunch times. Each student who brings in $5 will have the opportunity to spin wheel. Not only will that student get a prize, but they will add to their class total and the potential to win a celebratory party. 

Race Day Schedule – Nov. 19
7:30 am – 8 am: Packet Pick Up & Late Registration

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU DID NOT REGISTER BEFORE NOV. 9, YOU WILL NOT BE GUARANTEED YOUR T-SHIRT SIZE.
8:00 am: Kid’s Mile Dash (K-5th Grades, Not Timed) - 4 times around the track
8:30 am: 5K Run/Walk (chip timed) 
9:45 am (or after last finisher): Awards Ceremony

Directions and Parking
Lake Sybelia Elementary is located at 600 Sandspur Rd., Maitland, FL 32751. Parking available at Maitland Concourse, on Hillcrest (do NOT park on residents' lawns or property) and surrounding residential areas. We advise arriving early to obtain parking. 

Course
The 5K course starts at Lake Sybelia Elementary and winds around beautiful lakes Sybelia and Catherine, ending back at the school. For more information and a detailed map, visit  www.lakesybeliapta.org.

Restrictions
For safety reasons, bicycles, in-line skates, skateboards and dogs will NOT be allowed in the race. Strollers are welcome.

Shirts
**Race T-shirts and sizes are guaranteed for all registrants before Nov. 1st. After Nov. 1st, t-shirts will be assigned in registration order while supplies last. Supplies are limited.

Awards 5K (chip timed)
Overall best three Female and Male Runners
Top Female and Male Masters (40+)
Top three Female and Male finishers in the following age groups: 10 & under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59,60-69, 70 and over

Registration – One entry per person
Online: This year DD5K registration will be EXCLUSIVELY online! 
On race day: at Lake Sybelia Elementary from 7:30 – 8 am (Cash, check and credit cards will be accepted)
