The EPD SWAT Challenge is a fun, challenging 5K run with obstacles like walls, tires and climbing up a parking structure with a sandbag.
Takes place May 20, 2017, in Downtown Evansville.
2015 was the inaugural EPD SWAT Challenge event, and it was a big success!
281 participants, ranging from 9 years old to seniors
About the EPD SWAT Team
Founded in 1975, the EPD SWAT team trains and prepares for missions involving barricaded gunmen, hostage rescue, high risk warrant service, active shooter response and more.
The team is on-call 24 hours a day and responds immediately to calls for service.
SWAT officers are selected from within the Evansville Police Department. Officers must serve a minimum of three years before they can apply for the team.
