Date: Saturday, January 7, 2017
Location: Jack Brooks Gregory Park in Hitchcock at the Veterans Memorial Pavilion. If using the park entrance off 2004, pavillion will be at your first left after the stop sign. 
Times:
7:15AM - Arrival/Registration
7:40 AM - Pre-Run Yoga with Jess Lowe
8:00AM - 5K 
9:00AM - 3-Legged 1K - ALL AGES
Runners Fee: 5K: Adults - $25, Youth/Children - $15; 3 Legged 1K: ALL AGES $15; Day-of-event registration - $30 cash/check

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Both courses will be entirely on grass and gravel paths. Wear shoes that can get muddy if there has been rain the days prior the event. Using strollers in the race is not advised. Feel free to run with your FRIENDLY canine. Dogs must remain leashed. Strollers and canines not allowed in 3 Legged 1K race (no, your dog cannot be your partner). 
Expect surprise challenges, obstacles, and some good laughs during the 3 Legged 1K race - register with a friend or be paired at random the day of the event.

This is not a certified run - if you want to track your time, please bring your own timing device. 

At the event, document your run experience at our complimentary photobooth and enjoy a free pre-run yoga session led by certified Holy Yoga Instructor Jess Lowe.

Arise Global is hosting their first hope-to-be annual 5K Fun Run! Arise global is a certified 501(c)3 organizaton based out of Galveston County and currently operating in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to combat the injustices of child prostitution and assist vulnerable widows. In the last year, Arise Global has operated a refuge center that allows girls <17 years old to experience a safe, loving atmosphere and build relationship with our local team. Through building relationship, girls are willingly transitioned into an in-home program called Addis Oikos or "New Family" to be cared for by widowed "Mamas" while going through a restoration program. 

The Arise Global 5k + 1K Fun Runs is one way we are hoping to raise funds in order to continue operating our current projects
