Description

- The Inaugural Brooklyn Spring Half! Come and race in beautiful Prospect Park the first weekend of the Spring! Race starts at 7 am across the Greek Shelter at the South end of the park. You will receive a cool t-shirt and a finishers medal! Electronic timing! Stay for the awards ceremony and post race bagels and hot chocolate or cider!

Course Info

The course for The Brooklyn Spring Half Marathon consists of 4 loops. The loop is 3.35 miles. The start and finish will be .3 apart.

Water Stations: There will be water stations about every 2 miles along the course.   Two as shown on the map and one by the Greek Shelter. Besides water there will be bananas and oranges and sports drink and gels (Gu & Gatorade).

Porta Potties:  Will be located by the Greek Shelter.

Baggage check-in:  Will also be located by the Greek Shelter. Your bib will have a tear off tag that should be pinned to your bag. Please keep your bib number until you retrieve your bag.

Directions

The closest access point to race start are from Park Circle on Prospect Park Southwest. You can however use any entrance and just follow the loop heading South towards the Lake. Closest train stops are the F,G to Fort Hamilton Pkway and the Q train to Park Side.

Other Info

Make this race a family trip and visit a few of the many attractions in the vicinity. Only a few steps from the race start is The Lefrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park. It offers both indoor and outdoor facilities. Park Slope and 5th Ave are on the west side of the park where you can find numerous boutiques and great cuisine at affordable prices. The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens entrance is right of Flatbush Ave on the corner of Empire Blvd. If you have kids do not hesitate to visit the Brooklyn Zoo also accessible from flatbush Ave. and the park.
