Description
This is a family event! The course is a scenic route through and around Spring Brook Golf Resort and along rural country roads, with little traffic and no double laps. Schedule: 7:00 - 8:15 am - Race Registration; 8:30am 5K run and 3K walk begin; 9:15am - 12:00pm - Post-Run Festivities including music, food, beverages, guest speakers, raffles and awards. Awards for 5K Run: Awards are given to the overall top female and male; awards are also given to the top 3 female and top 3 male finishers in each age group. New for 2008.... Register Early! Dri-Balance t-shirts will be given to the first 50 registrants! Prizes to the top 3 pledge collectors! Pledge sheets available on www.blockthesunrun.com or call 262-408-5455. Team awards to the top team of 5. Chip timing will be used to ensure accurate results. Timing provided by Sports Management Associates, Inc., Madison, WI.

The course is a scenic route through and around quiet Spring Brook Resort and along rural country roads, with little traffic. It is a single loop course (no double loops and no doubling back or double loops).
Directions
From Milwaukee, Chicago and Madison:
[br]Take I90/94 to Exit 89, the second Wisconsin Dells exit. Turn left onto Hwy. 23 South and then turn right at the Wal-Mart/Kohls intersetion (Hwy. P). Go 1/4 mile and turn right on Birchwood Road. Proceed to Spring Brooks main entrance (approx 1/4 mile).

[br]From Minneapolis, Eau Claire and La Crosse:
[br]Take I90/94 to Exit 89, the third Wisconsin Dells exit. Turn right onto Hwy. 23 South and then turn right at the Wal-Mart/Kohls intersetion (Hwy. P). Go 1/4 mile and turn right on Birchwood Road. Proceed to Spring Brooks main entrance (approx 1/4 mile).

[br]From Appleton, Green Bay and Oshkosh:
[br]Take Hwy. 23 into Wisconsin Dells. Proceed through the downtown area of Wisconsin Dells and across bridge. At lower Dells intersection of Hwys 12/13/23, proceed straight to next stop light. Turn left (Mobil will be on your left as you turn) onto Trout Road. Trout Road will "v" to right - continue on Trout Road to Lake Shore Drive (approx 1 mile). Turn right on Lake Shore Drive and proceed 1/8 mile to Clubhouse Complex.

Other Info
The second annual event is sure to be even bigger and better than last years, with its almost 500 participants. All money raised from Block The Sun Run will directly benefit critical research programs through the Melanoma Research Foundation.
