 _ 2017 Chimpathon 16K:

There is no other race like it in the world! Whether it’s running or walking that you love, we hope you will join us for our third annual Chimpathon. The course takes you through Save the Chimps – the world’s largest chimpanzee sanctuary, located in Fort Pierce, Florida. This is a unique opportunity to visit Save the Chimps, which is not open to the public. You can expect to see many of our chimpanzee residents, including Doc– the event’s mascot – as you run beside their island homes. Our race starts and finishes at St. Lucie County Fairgrounds on Florida’s Treasure Coast where friends and family can cheer you on. After leaving the fairgrounds, you’ll use circular ramps to access an aerial sidewalk, travel down a country road and run or walk a 1-1/2 mile lap through Save the Chimps.

• The course takes you through Save the Chimps – the world’s largest chimpanzee sanctuary, located in Fort Pierce, Florida.
