Description

The Race to Raise Each Other Up is back and ready to make 2017 another successful year!  The Race is a charity 5k, held in Washington, D.C., which raises money for the non-profit organization, Masinyusane.  All proceeds for the Race go directly to Masinyusane.  The Race to Raise Each Other Up will be held at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017.

Masinyusane (mass-in-yoo-sahn-A), which means "Raising Each Other Up," is a an organization that strives to raise up poor South African communities through education of their youth.  Masinyusane believes that by empowering young South Africans with greater education opportunities, they will help set students on paths toward successful futures, which in turn will help to raise up the families and communities surrounding these rising stars.  To learn more about Masinyusane visit: http://www.masinyusane.org/

Thanks to all of our past participants!  As a result of your generosity, the Race to Raise Each Other Up helped raise over $8,000 for Masinyusane since its inception in 2014.  With YOUR HELP we intend to continue the charitable success of this event in 2017.
Once again, the Race to Raise Each Other Up will be held in Rock Creek Park, the largest National Park in Washington.  This is a family friendly race; runners and walkers (and crawlers) are more than welcome.  One of the exciting advantages of holding the race at Rock Creek Park means that the 5k route will be completely closed off to vehicular traffic, creating a very safe environment for our runners and walkers.

We are extremely excited about this year's race and we look forward to seeing you bright and early (8 a.m.) on the morning of the 18th!

Yours Truly,

Tim Cork and Caitlin Hennessey
