Stride Against Silence 5K is an annual run/walk at the UF Commuter Lot benefiting the Cochlear Implant Department at UF Health Speech and Hearing Center. This year’s Stride will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 8:30am. The event will feature entertainment from KISS 105.3, speakers with cochlear implants, Albert and Alberta, free breakfast, a drawing, face painting for kids, and more! A shirt, drawing ticket, and goodie bag will be guaranteed for the first 150 participants that register!
According to the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, approximately 28 million Americans have a hearing impairment. The purpose of Stride Against Silence is to raise money for the Cochlear Implant Department at the UF Health Speech and Hearing Center to help purchase new test materials and therapy materials in the speech department for habilitation and rehabilitation, audiological tests, and provide loaner equipment for both the children and adults patients. We hope you decide to join our cause in supporting the local hearing loss community.
Registration and check-in begins at 7:30 AM. For expedited check-in please print and bring your confirmation email. The race will begin at 8:30 AM.
