The 2017 Bookin' It 5K Run features a 5K race course for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities and a Bookworm Jog for children 12 and under. And if you can't participate in the race, you can help support the race as a Silent Reader. There is a new location this year! The race course starts and finishes at Porter Pavilion and takes runners on a paved course through the Amerson River Park portion of Macon's Ocmulgee Heritage Trail. Strollers are welcome, but must line up behind the runners. The Bookworm Jog will start at 8:30 AM; 5K will start at 9:00 AM.
Finish line services are presented by A Course/Line LLC of Valdosta.
Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers in the 5K. Overall male and female and male and female master finishers in the following age groups will receive recognition: 10 & under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 +
All proceeds go to benefit the Junior League of Macon's mission to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women, and improve the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The League is focused on improving literacy and school readiness in the Middle Georgia community through school partnerships, education, fund raising, advocacy, and hands-on projects.
