There's an event for everyone at the Highland Academy High Five!
The main event is a 5K walk/run that begins and ends on the campus of Highland Academy. This event will be timed using a chip timing system. The course is mostly paved and is moderately hilly.
For those who want to participate in the festivities, but feel 3.1 miles is not quite for them, we also offer a 1 mile run/walk on campus that will be occuring simultaneously with the 5K.
And for all the little guys, we offer a Kids' "Campus Dash" Fun Run that will be on the school's front campus. It is geared for ages 6 and under (parents are welcome to join their kids at no cost, if needed, although we encourage the kids to race on their own!).
All proceeds from this event will benefit the Worthy Student Fund at Highland Academy.
The "High Five" will take place on Sunday, April 2.
PACKET PICKUP will be at the Raphan Ley Auditorium (the gymnasium at the campus entrance) on Friday, March 31 from 12-4:00 PM, or on Sunday, April 3 at 10:00 am. 5K participants will want to be sure to get their packet in plenty of time to get their bib and timing chip.
The events on Race Day will begin at 1:30 with the Kids' Fun Run.
The 5K will begin at 2:00, and the 1 mile will begin at approximately 2:05.
Water and light refreshments will be available for participants after the event.
All finishers of all events will receive a medal. An awards ceremony will follow the end of the 5K.
For those doing the 5K, place medals will be awarded to overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd male/female, as well as age categories male/female.
This year, the mile will also be timed, with special awards going to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall finishers male/female.
Parking will be at the Highland SDA Church.
