 _ 2017 Autism Speaks U University of Massachusetts Amherst 5K Run/ 3K Walk:

For each of the past 9 years, the Autism Speaks U chapter at UMass Amherst has gathered a diverse community of those affected by autism, Amherst residents, and 5 college students for a 5K walk/run. On April 2nd 2017, this tradition will continue in order to spread awareness, raise money for research, and to let those affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders know something very important: We’re listening.

This family friendly event is full of family-fun activities, warm food, and the opportunity to learn more about Autism Spectrum Disorders. In the recent past, the UMass Amherst chapter of Autism Speaks U has raised over $30,000, and in 2017, intends to meet our goal of $35,000. At the event, we inform attendees of all things important about those on the diverse spectrum. From the wonderful and unique attributes that many affected by Autism have, to the challenges the disorder poses, to recent research statistics, the knowledge and events presented at the 5K shows our commitment to give an accurate portrayal of the Autism community.
