On Saturday, April 22nd, Porterville will have the opportunitu to particiapte in Color Blast Run as a now-permanent component of the Iris Festival. This 5k run/walk community event is scheduled to begin at 8:00am and will take place in conjunction with the 19th Annual Iris Festival. Held in the historic downtown district of Porterville, and winding its way through the scenic Rails-to-Trails, this event is a favorite of running enthusiasts and casual walkers alike.
Once the run is over, we hope to see Color Blast participants to walk through the Iris Festival showing off their fun colors and crazy outfits. And check out the Chili Cook off teams as they are cooking for the win. Many groups of families, friends and co-workers are asked to join in the fun of this event and get a little crazy with their attire, adding to the upbeat atmosphere of the run.
Race day April 22nd downtown Porterville, the race will begin at 8am in front of the Elks Lodge on the corner of Main and Morton. Please wear white for the full color effect. Towels and water and of course your camera for great pics of yourself and others. Please arrive 30 mins before the start of the race. This is a 5k on asphalt and drit and if it rains we will still go on with the race.
Packet pick-up will be at 93 N Main Street on April 20th & 21st from 9am to 5:30pm. If you can not make it by the Chamber office you can pick up your packet on the day of the event starting at 7am. If you have any questions please give us a call at 559-784-7502
