The Sister School’s 5K Run offers both a 5K (3.1 mile) course, as well as a Kids’ Mile Fun Run through the beautiful Veteran’s Park in Alabaster, AL. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to attend. All event proceeds will benefit our Sister Schools Project. During the summer 2016 students, teachers, staff, and professional mentors traveled to Honduras to set up a Sister School with three schools in rural Honduras. The team will be returning to the area again this summer to refresh the schools and also add rooms to another school in the area.
7:00 a.m. – Vendor Expo Set Up
7:30 a.m. – On Site - Day of registration opens
8:30 a.m. – On Site - Day of registration closes
9:00 a.m. - 5K begins
10:15 a.m. – Kids’ Mile begins
11:00 a.m. - Awards Ceremony/Post Race Vendor Expo
Registration Information: Register online through this site. If you miss the online deadline you can register on race morning from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. at Veteran’s Park. NOTE: Race packets and official race-timing are not guaranteed for day-of registrants.
Run/Walk Policy: Registration is required for both the 5K and the Kids’ Mile Fun Run. The Kids’ Mile Fun Run is open to all children ages 12 and younger. Registered accompanying adults may join their children. The Hoofin’ It For Honduras 5K and Kids’ Mile Fun Run are open to runners and walkers of all abilities. There is no age limit for the 5K. There is a 1 hour time limit for the 5K and a 30 minute limit on the Fun Run.
Participant Amenities and Packet Pick-up: All registered 5K participants will receive an official race packet. Race packets, along with race numbers, can be picked up as early as 7:30 a.m. on the day of the event. Race day registration will end PROMPTLY at 8:30 a.m. for the 5K and 10 a.m. for the Fun Run. To avoid any delays or problems, we encourage you to register early. Shirts are only guaranteed for pre-registrants.
Awards: Overall awards will include top three male and female. Top finisher awards are in each age group and by gender as follows: 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. The 5K Awards Ceremony will take place about 11 a.m. in Veteran’s Park. Awards will not be offered for the Kids’ Mile Fun Run, but all participants will receive a goody bag and certificate upon completion of the race course.

Parents are entirely responsible for their children and family members.
Strollers and baby joggers are allowed; however, for safety reasons, we ask that you start in the back of the pack, regardless of whether you are walking or running.
T-Shirt – Race Registration includes a t-shirt. Sizes NOT guaranteed after 5/7/16.
All registered participates will have access to race results online.
