ASL Run Series- 5K Walk/Run...

• 5K Run/Walk:- Run 3.1 Miles

Registration is now open for the American Sign Language Run Series (ASL) races! This year’s ASL Run Series will include two 5K walk/run events, the Indiana School for the Deaf (ISD) 5K in May and the Sharp Eyed Group (SEG) 5K in September.

In addition to students at ISD, this year SEG has chosen the Indiana Chapter of Black Deaf Advocates (ICBDA) to receive the proceeds from these events. ISD and ICBDA both advocate for the removal of language barriers, and promote inclusion and opportunity for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. Proceeds from the 5K events in this series will go towards furthering these goals. All contributions received from the ASL Run Series will be divided 50/50 between ICBDA and ISD. The ASL Run series is overseen by the Indiana Association of the Deaf (IAD). IAD is a membership-based non-profit, 501(c)3 advocacy organization serving the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community in Indiana.  

Time and Location

This ASL Run Series will be held at the Indiana School for the Deaf on Sunday, May 7th and Saturday, September 30th at 8:00 a.m. respectively.  

Race Prices

The ASL Run Series allows participants to sign up for the Indiana School for the Deaf (ISD) 5K Walk/Run event and the Sharp Eyed Group (SEG) 5K Walk/Run event at the same time for a huge discounted rate! The discount will automatically be applied at check out. Participants that choose to sign up for one race will only receive a free short sleeve t-shirt.

ISD 5K race on May 7th:

$30 before 4/1/17

$35 4/2/17 - 5/6/17

$40 on race day

Deadlines

In addition to a discounted rate, each registrant will receive a free t-shirt (must register and pay before April 18th for ISD event and September 10th for SEG event to receive a t-shirt). Additionally, participants that sign up for both races in the series, ISD and SEG, will receive a free ASL Run Series long sleeve shirt as well! The final deadline for registration is Sunday, May 7th, for the ISD event and Saturday, September 30th, for the SEG event.

Packets and Prizes

Age division awards will be mailed. Participant prize drawings and volunteer prize drawings will be held immediately at 9:00 a.m. The packet will be picked up on the day of each race for ASL Run Series between 7:00 am to 7:45 am at the Registration Tent.
