The 2017 TriSports.com Sahuarita Triathlon is a USA Triathlon sanctioned multisport festival taking place in and around Sahuarita Lake Park taking place on Saturday 5/6/17. You can choose from Sprint or Olympic Distance Triathlons, 5k Trail Run, or forego the swim and participate in a duathlon!

If you’re looking for a run, we’ve added a 5k option for the whole family!

Olympic Course

The Sahuarita Triathlon is a USA Triathlon sanctioned, Olympic Distance triathlon, taking place in and around Sahuarita Lake Park. This .9 mile swim, 25 mile bike, and 6.2 mile run will certainly be a beautiful and challenging early season triathlon for its 300 participants. The swim takes place in Sahuarita Lake, followed by what should be a fast bike ride, though participants will be tested by a steady 7-8 miles of climbing midway in the ride. The final 10K run will capitalize on the pleasant, car-free Wilderness Trail, along with some portions of the great living within Rancho Sahuarita.

Swim – .9 Mile
The swim course will be a counter-clockwise 0.9 mile loop around the perimeter of Lake Sahuarita. There will be kayaks throughout the center of the course along with lifeguards patrolling the perimeter of the lake.

Bike – 24.8 Miles
There will be three aid stations along the bike course at miles 6, 11, and 18 with several road marshals to ensure the safest route possible. Neutral bike support will be on course as well in case there are any mechanical issues that you might encounter while out on the bike course.

Run – 6.2 Miles
This 2-loop run will take you through closed running trails around the Rancho Sahuarita community. There will be 5 aid stations along the course at miles 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 respectively. The road crossings will be staffed by law enforcement to provide a safe enjoyable run to finish your race.

5k Run Course

Run – 3.1 Miles
The majority of the run course will be along closed running trails around the Rancho Sahuarita community. There will be 2 aid stations along the course at miles 1, 2, respectively. The road crossings will be staffed by law enforcement to provide a safe enjoyable run to finish your race.

Sahuarita is located 15 miles south of Tucson, on I-19. Exit on West Sahuarita Road, turn left on South Rancho Sahuarita Blvd, and the park is 1.6 miles down on the right.

From Phoenix, take I-10 east to Tucson, I-19. 1 hour, 57 minutes from Sky Harbor Airport.
