Every year OCP is proud to hold one of the best 5Ks for families in the Atlanta area.

Started 10 years ago, our Beat the Street for Little Feet Race features a 5K, one-mile Fun Run, and a Tot Trot.

Each year, James Dean, New York Times bestselling author and illustrator of the popular “Pete the Cat” picture books, creates an original Pete the Cat design for the race, which we feature on the T-shirts given out to participants.

Event details and schedule

OCP is situated on West College Avenue, between Feld Avenue and Mead Road, behind Thankful Missionary Baptist Church.  
Registration and post-race events will take place in the parking lots shared by OCP and Thankful.

Race Day Timeline:
7:00 am:  Packet pick-up and race day registration open
8:00 am: 5K Race
9:00 am (immediately after 5K finish): 1 Mile Race
9:15 am (immediately following th 1 Mile): Tot Trot
9:30 am: Awards

Parking: Please plan to park on the street (since the parking lot is the location for registration and some race activities, it is not available for runner parking). Carpooling, biking, and the use of public transportation are highly encouraged. East Lake MARTA Station is within easy walking distance.
 
Awards:
Prizes will be awarded to the following:
>>> Top Overall male & female ; Top Masters Male & Female
>>> 1st and 2nd male & female age group winners in the 5K (10-year age divisions)
>>> Top 5K runner with jogging stroller
>>> Top 3 male & female finishers of 1-mile
>>> Tot Trot participants receive a Pete the Cat "medal!"
 
Pete the Cat T-shirts:
>>> T-shirts will be distributed to pre-registered runners with their race numbers.
>>> Runners who register on race day pick up shirts after the race.
>>> If participants cannot be at the race but still would like their shirt, please e-mail [email protected] and we will make shirts available at Big Peach.
>>> "I'll Pick Up My Shirt" registration option: shirts available at packet pick-up at Big Peach and on race day.
>>>"Mail My Shirt" registration option: shirts will be mailed to the address provided.

Kids' Activities: Activity tables created and monitored by OCP parents and teachers. May include face painting, sand table play, crafts with recycled and natural materials, etc. 

Food Vendors will be on-site and will accept cash or credit card.
