Parkland Aquatic Club (PAAC) is hosting its second 5K trail challenge and 1 mile fun run. The run will take place within the beautiful Trexler Game Preserve and around the Lehigh Valley Zoo. PAAC will be donating 10% of the raised amount to give to the zoo for their new Giraffe exhibit. You will be running on a combination of some roads within the zoo complex and wooded trails. PAAC is in the process of raising money for an new scorebaord and your entry fee will go towards this purchase. PAAC is a 501 (c) (3) charitible organization and your entry fee is tax deductible.
PAAC is more than just a competitive swim club in the Lehigh Valley. We are marking a difference for the residents of the City of Allentown. Through our "PAAC Gives Back" program, PAAC recently donated 700lbs of food for the Allentown Ecumenical Food Bank. PAAC also offers scholarships to Allentown residents that provides the life-long skills and discipline that the sport of swimming instills in our youth. Most recently, PAAC received a grant from the Allentown Kiwanis Club Foundation and have partnered with the City of Allentown to host a Drowning Awareness Program in June 2017. All of these items have been targeted to our focus on Drowning Awareness, Diversity and Inclusion in the sport of swimming and a Dedication to fitness. PAAC's mission statement is "Empowering young people to be champions in life through the excellence in swimming!"
Check-in will take place near the Start line by the parking lot starting at 7:30 A.M. The 5K race will start at 8:30 A.M. The course map is attached and it will take place on some roads and trails around the Lehigh Valley Zoo. Parking is availible at the Lehigh Valley Zoo. The 1 Mile Fun Run will start at 9:15. Day of registration needs to be paid in cash.
All finishers will receive a custom-made "Run with the PAAC" medal. Medals will be given out at the end of the run.
