- 2017 Freedom Fighters 5K Run/Walk:
Join us for the Inaugural Freedom Fighters 5K run/walk to benefit Richard Honan’s care package program that sends boxes filled with comfort food, toiletries and treats to men and women deployed overseas while serving our Country. Every year, several thousand pounds of care packages full of an assortment of treats, toiletries, newspapers, magazines and Christmas trees are sent overseas.
The majority of the 5K run/walk will take place on the road with a 1/4 mile on trail by Lewis Lake. Both the start and finish will be at Winthrop High School.
Registration Fees*:
$20 – 4/1
$25 – 6/4
$30 – Race Day
Packet Pickup/Race Day Registration: There will not be a pre-reg packet pickup unless noted otherwise. Packet pickup and race day registration will open at 8:30AM on race day at Winthrop High School.

Overall M/F
1st, 2nd and 3rd M/F in each age group: Under 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Swag/Perks:
Anyone registered prior to 7/1 will be guaranteed a custom race shirt.

Life long Winthrop resident, Richard Honan, is an active community member, family man, veteran, artist, boat builder, photographer and much more. Always working for the betterment of the community, he has devoted a large part of his life to this country and continues to work tirelessly for our service members and veterans. For the past fifteen years, Richard has sent hand written letters and care packages filled with support to servicemen and women deployed overseas, far from family and friends. With the help of the Winthrop community, he has been able to pack and ship over 33,000 pounds of care packages. Help this tradition continue by supporting the Freedom Fighters 5K run/walk
