Come join us for the 2nd Annual Stissing Theatre Guild 5K Poker Fun Run/Walk at the beautiful Wethersfield Estate.  The Wethersfield Estate is located in Amenia, NY and occupies 1200 acres of Northeastern Dutchess County.  Situated at an elevation of 1200 ft., the highest point in the region, it provides panoramic views of the Catskills to the west and the Berkshires to the north.  Be sure to bring your camera along because your entrance fee for the 5K also grants you access to the breathtaking three-acre formal Wethersfield Gardens.  

You will be inspired by the picturesque scenery as you run or walk along this 5K off-road course and collect five cards to create your poker hand.  Since we want you to enjoy the breathtaking views that you will undoubtedly encounter, this will not be a timed run/walk.  Instead, prizes will be awarded for the poker hands collected.

Your entrance fee is benefiting the Stissing Theatre Guild, a volunteer organization that fosters an appreciation of the art of musical theater.  The Stissing Theatre Guild was started in 1989 at the Stissing Mountain Junior- Senior High School, in Pine Plains, New York, and has produced one musical production each year since its inception. The Guild also presents awards to graduating seniors who have been active in the many aspects of the theatre program during their years in the Pine Plains School District. These awards are made possible only through donations and fundraising.

Event details and schedule

At the entrance gate to the Wethersfield Gardens continue up the drive and follow signs for parking and/or parking attendants.

Registration begins at 8:15am

Be sure to bring your registration ticket and identification.

Walk/Run begins at 9am

The course consists of mixed terrain including grass, gravel driveways, and wooded trails. The course also contains some uphill and downhill variation.

Wear comfortable walking shoes or sneakers.

Be sure to bring a camera or phone for photgraphs.

There is a picnic area on site , if you would like to pack a picnic for after the race.

Access to the garden will be provided until noon.

There will be water available along the trial and light refreshments available at the finish line.

All participants must sign the event waiver to participate

Event Rules

• A Wethersfield release must be signed by all participants. Minors (17 and under) waivers must be signed by parent or guardian.
• You must obey all directions by trail markers, volunteers, and/or Wethersfield Staff.
• Children 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
• You will not be allowed on the course before the official start.
• No pets allowed on the property or course.
• No unregistered participants or vehicles are allowed on the course.
