The Adam and Eve Half Marathon is Charlottesville's first SOCIAL RUN.  Whether you are single or in a relationship, you can decide on a RED shirt (if you are in a relationship), a GREEN shirt (if you are single and ready to mingle) or a YELLOW shirt (if it's complicated).  As Charlottesville’s first social run, the Adam and Eve Half Marathon and 8K and will be the perfect place to meet new friends, to change your status from “single” to “in a relationship” and to share the love of running in the process.

The Adam and Eve Half Marathon and 8K Celebrates Everyone who Loves to Run! It is much more than run: it's a celebration of existing relationships and a catalyst for new ones. What better way to meet someone who shares your interest than meeting them at a race!

COURSE
The course is VERY SCENIC, MOSTLY FLAT AND FAST!  We are very excited about this course, as it showcases some of the most runners' friendly neighborhoods and locations in Charlottesville!
The new course starts and finishes at beautiful Darden Towe Park.  It follows the banks of the Rivanna River and then tours the Locust Ave neighborhood, a scenic and historic neighborhood adjacent to Downtown Charlottesville.
The course is very well supported with WATER STOPS AND GELS at miles  1.5, 2.6, 4.3, 5, 7.8, 8.8, 10.2 and 11.6. Port-a-potties are located at the start/finish and miles 1.5, 2.6, 4.3, 8.8, 10.2 and 11.6.

WEATHER
The weather is normally mild.  However, please check the weather before the race and plan accordingly.  As always, please note that severe thunderstorms or dangerous weather conditions might cause race delays or cancellations.

PACKET PICKUP
Packet pickup will take place on race morning at Darden Towe Park from 6:30 am - 7:45 am. 

START TIMES
Both the Half Marathon and 8k will start at 8:00 am.

WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THE CATEGORIES?
At the Adam and Eve Half Marathon & 8K we AIM TO HAVE FUN and to celebrate love in all its permutations.  When you register, you have the option to choose one of the 5 couples or singles categories:
ADAM AND EVE- couple
ADAM AND STEVE- couple
EVA AND EVE- couple
ADAM- single
EVE- single
COMPLICATED- single

There will be fun awards based on these categories.  Also, your race t-shirts and bib numbers are color coded for your relationship status! Green means single, red means couple and yellow means it's complicated!

It is  not mandatory to be part of a category.... but it sure is FUN!!

WATER STOPS
The Half Marathon has 8 water stop locations at the approximate mileage of 1.5, 2.6, 4.3, 5, 7.8, 8.8, 10.2 and 11.6.  The 8K has three water stops at 1.5, 2.6 and 4.3.  The water stops will have water, electrolyte drink and gels.  More information here.

Restrooms will be available at start/finish and miles 1.5, 2.6, 4.3, 8.8, 10.2 and 11.6.

AWARDS
We will have top 3 overall and age group awards (10 year increments) in each race.

CHIP TIMING
The race will be chip timed with the MyLap bib tag system.  Your chip will be attached to your bib number, and there is nothing you need to do to it.  The chips are also disposable.
