Run Voyages organizes running and yoga retreats in beautiful locations with expert coaches. Our Muir Beach retreat in May 2017 will include a long trail run (6-12 miles) on gorgeous coastal trails, yoga before and after sessions tailored for runners, professional coaching, interval training, drills. The 2015 female Ultrarunner of the year Magda Boulet will coach and run with the group. Magda is also VP of Innovation for GU, an Olympic marathoner and 2015 Western States 100 winner. Reba Gray will lead yoga sessions tailored for runners. Our base will be Muir Beach, surrounded by staggering views. The group size is limited. There will be multiple distances and pacing available for the group run. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included. Magda will lead the group in preparation of a healthy dinner geared for active runners. 

Why running + yoga? We believe that a consistent practice of running and yoga can provide balanced and powerful physical and mental training for runners and yogis of all ages, sizes and experience levels. Yoga for runners is intended to provide you with yoga sessions that fit in pre or post-run, on the same day as a run, or on a running rest day. At our retreats, we combine quality group runs with expert coaching sessions, yoga designed for runners, healthy meals and group camaraderie in world-class locations. The group dynamic provides motivation and positive energy, making the workouts fun and fast. 

Event details and schedule

The Saturday retreat includes:

  • Trail run with Magda Boulet at Muir Beach and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in the Marin Headlands
  • Yoga for runners sessions with Reba Gray before and after the trail run
  • Group coaching sessions, interval training and running drills
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Our instructors are 2015 Ultrarunner of the Year Magda Boulet and yoga instructor Reba Gray. 

Tentative Schedule*

8:30am – Participants meet at the Muir Beach Community Center for breakfast and sign-in

8:45am-9:15am – Introductions and program overview

9:15am – 9:45am – Yoga for Runners Session (Pre-Run)

10:00am-12:00pm – Group run at Muir Beach. Map and trail summary to be posted. Optional interval training.

12:00pm – Post-run stretch and core exercises with Magda

12:30pm – Lunch at Muir Beach Community Center

1:30pm-2:30pm – Coaching with Magda 

2:30pm-3:30pm – Short run/walk to the Muir Beach lookout (gorgeous view) and drills

4:00pm-5:00pm – Yoga for Runners with Reba (Post-Run)

5:00pm – Optional dinner prep

6:00pm-7:30pm – Dinner (group meal)

7:30pm – Closing session

Logistics: Arrive at Muir Beach Community Center by 8:45am. Park on Seacape Drive. Course details will be posted on runvoyages.com. Bring sunscreen and be prepared for coastal weather.
