 _ 2017 Abba House 5K/10K and 10Mile Run for Recovery presented by Abba House and Forsyth County Family YMCA:

This is the 10th annual Abba House 5k/10k and 10 Mile race. The Forsyth County Family YMCA is partnering with Abba House to bring hope and healing to as many women and children as possible. Runners will have multiple races to choose from and the courses have most of their distance on the beautiful Big Creek Greenway. The Kids Run and Tot Trot have been added so the whole family can enjoy a great time!

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION THROUGH MARCH 31st!

ON-LINE REGISTRATION CLOSES:

Wednesday, May 10th, 8:00pm EST (Local Time). Cotton race T-Shirts are guaranteed to all participants who register by May 1st (shirts run big).

RACE TIMES:

10K and 10 miler begin @ 8:00am

5K begins @ 8:10am

1 Mile Kids Run begins @ 10:00am

Tot Trot begins @ 10:15am

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Distinct point-to-point courses that run predominately on the Forsyth Big Creek Greenway. The 5k, 10k, and 10 mile start at Castleberry Road. The first two plus miles of the 5k drop in elevation making this a fast course. The 10k also has an overall elevation drop for the first 4 miles. The 10 mile course adds it's additional distance along the Greenway. All courses finish in front of the Forsyth County Family YMCA. The 5k and 10k are Peachtree Qualifiers.

FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY:

There will be a FREE Mother's Day Festival in the parking area of the YMCA from 8:00 am until 11:00 am. It will include lots of games, crafts, food, face painting, clowns, & bounce houses.  Bring your family and enjoy a fun day in the sun!

RACES FOR CHILDREN:

The 1mile Kid Run is recommended for children ages 6-12 and the Tot Trot is for ages 3-5. All children signed up by May 1st will receive a T-Shirt (youth sizes available) and all finishers will receive a medal. These events are being hosted by the Forsyth County Family YMCA and are sure to be a blast! There will be a shuttle to and from the extra Parking at Vickery Middle School: 6240 Post Rd, Cumming, GA 30040.

DIRECTIONS:

Ga 400 to McFarland Road, West on McFarland, Right N.B. on Hwy 9 to left on Post Road. The Forsyth Y on left behind Vickery Village.

PARKING, REGISTRATION & SHUTTLE AT VICKERY MIDDLE SCHOOL:

All Runners need to meet at Vickery Creek Elementary School to park, register and then be shuttled to the race start. Friends and family of the runners will be shuttled to the race finish line and festival at the YMCA(from the Middle School). Vickery Middle School: 6240 Post Rd, Cumming, GA 30040

RACE DAY REGISTRATION CUTOFF:

Race day registration opens at 6:00 for all races. 10mile and 10k registration is open until 7:30 in order to catch the last bus ride to the start line at 7:45. 5k registration cut off is at 7:40 in order to catch the last bus at 7:55. Runners will be able to compete in multiple races, but must sign up for all and change out their bibs in order to be timed.

5K - $25.00 until 11:59pm March 31st, then $30.00 to race day

10K - $25.00 until 11:59pm March 31st, then $30.00 to race day

10 Mile - $40.00 until 11:59pm March 31st, then $45.00 to race day

Tot Trot - $10.00 to race day

1 Mile Kid Run - $15.00 to race day

CHIP TIMING:

The 5k, 10k, and 10mile will all have chip timing with the MyLaps bib tag system.

POST RACE AWARDS at the Festival:

Awards will be presented for Overall Male/ Female, Masters Male/Female, 1st-3rd place age groups in 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 up. Awards for 5K will begin @ 9:15am and awards for 10K will begin @ 9:30am.

PACKET PICK-UP:

Packet Pick-up will be on May 12th from 11:00am to 6:00pm at the Forsyth County Family YMCA, 6050 Y Street, Cumming Ga 30040, also available race morning during registration @ Vickery Creek Elementary School.
