St. Luke's Weight Management Center's Healthy Steps @ Any Size 5K Walk...

Obesity is a rising concern in the United States.  It is one of the leading causes in the escalating cost of healthcare.  More than one third of our nation’s population is considered obese.  That is 34.9% or 78.6 million people to be exact.  However, there is good news.  Childhood obesity has decreased from 13.9% in 2004 to 8.4% in 2012 and continued to hold steady throughout 2015. 

The St Luke’s Weight Management Center is taking an active role in making everyone aware of the importance of becoming active in the fight against obesity by hosting our 2nd Annual Healthy Steps at Any Size 5K Walk.  Our hope is to encourage people of all sizes and shapes to participate in this activity, promote the importance of just moving, have some fun and exercise while doing it.

Event details and schedule

Walk will take place rain or shine

No registration fee required for children 12 and under

Day of walk - check in and packet pick up 7:45am-8:45am, please bring your confirmation email

Day of walk registration 7:45am - 8:45 am

Day of walk registration fee $30 cash or check only

Check in and registration in Pavillon 1 - Pavillon 1 is on the left hand side of park directly behind tennis and basketball courts

Walk starts at 9am.  Walk will take place on the macadam path around the park.  3 laps will complete 5K.

Festivities will conclude by 12 noon.

Walk is handicap accessible.
