In the woods! This is a timed fun-run on a dirt road with a suggested donation of $20. There are no frills of any kind at this event. For those in DEBITCONN: the incredible folks running a race in every town in CT, this is a 169-eligible event.

FAQs

How far is the race?

It'll be around 5 miles. We will have a wheel-measurement in a few days (today is 2.28.17)

Chip Timed?

Not so much. It'll be accurate, though probably more like old-school-popsicle-stick accurate than microchip accurate.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There isn't a lot of...well, anything in Hartland, so we did the best we could. Your only bet is to park on Fuller Road, which is listed as a 'Pass At Your Own Risk' dirt road about 1.5M from the center of Hartland. There is a lot of space there. The race itself starts directly across the street after a short hike through the woods on Pell Road.

Where is the race start?

There's not really a way to drive directly to the race start. Park on Fuller, then cross 179 (a.k.a. Granville Road) where you'll find friendly volunteers who will direct you to walk up a rocky, rooty path that lasts about 3/4 of a mile. When you emerge from the woods you will find more friendly volunteers and fellow racers loitering until the race starts. The race start is on Pell Road - this is a dirt road. The race will run you up this dirt road to Massachusetts, then back. Then there's soup. And pie!

So it's a trail run?

While there is no pavement on Pell Road, it is a public road and also a dirt road. So there actually may be cars/vehicles on this road during the event. It's not a closed course.

What can I bring into the event?

Don't get any wild ideas. No booze, no fire. Here are some rules for state lands. Unless you want to get a whole lot of 169ers angry, don't get stupid.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Nope

What's the refund policy?

No refunds for online registrations. There will be day-of-race registartion so if you're concerned just show up on the early side and everything will be fine.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Nah, we'll probably have a list someplace.

Is this a certified course?

This is not certified in any way, shape or form.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Nope.

Who benefits from this event?

This is a benefit fun-run for the Water Protector Legal Collective supporting the ceremonial resistance camps at Standing Rock.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

If you have a question I guarantee others do, too, so ask away.Email is best: [email protected]. Go ahead, ask me anything.

GPS Coordinates

Parking: 42°00'48.2"N 72°53'31.6"W

Race start: 42°01'66.76"N 72°90'67.03"W. At least that's close to where it is (what, are you parachuting in or something?)

No frills

We are keeping overhead low for two reasons - to make as much money as possible for the beneficiary and to provide a solution for 169ers.

Event details and schedule

At 9AM or thereabouts some dude will shout, "Ready, set, go!" 5 miles later a winner w
