5K for Johnnie K Run/Walk...

• 5K Run:- Run 3.1 Miles

The Cocalico LEO Club is sponsoring its sixth annual 5K for Johnnie K on May 20, 2017.  John W. Keene IV (Johnnie) was the husband of Lynn Keene, a teacher at Cocalico High School. Johnnie was an avid runner (completed both Tough Mudders and Spartan Races) and played rugby for West Chester University and Brandywine Men's Rugby Clubs. He enjoyed running with his dog Pete, playing golf, kayaking and fishing; and everything baseball. He was inducted into the Neshaminy Hiigh Athletic Hall of Fame for baseball and football.  As a couple, he and Lynn spent many hours running Pete at Middle Creek. He passed away November 8, 2011 of colon cancer/Lynch Syndrome.

Over the last five years, this race has donated over $15,000.00 to families that are struggling financially during cancer treatments.  Monies have been used for mortgage payments, gas cards, monthly bills, co-pays, or sometimes used to give families an opportunity for a night out.  

We pride ourselves on helping these amazing families find moments of normalcy and relief in an extremely stressful time.  This year we are supporting Abigail Critchfield and her family as she battles Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Event details and schedule

Race Day: Saturday, May 20 at 10 AM

Registration (if not completed here): 9 AM

Awards: Division awards will be given at 11 AM.  The awards are a true reflection of John's favorite past time after a race!

Parking will be available at the ADAMSTOWN COMMUNITY POOL on West Main St. in Adamstown.

Course: This year we will begin in the Adamstown Grove (next to the pool).  This is an out and back course that is just short of 3 miles.  It will proceed down Main Street to Good's Chip factory and return back up Main Street.  The course will be open to traffic so proceed with caution.  Fire police will be present at all major intersections.  The run will conclude at the Adamstown Pool.  WALKERS will proceed down Main Street but turn around at Church Street.  Course markers will be present.

T-shirts will be available with registration BEFORE May 5, 2016.  T-shirts can be picked up at the designated t-shirt table.
